Role Purpose

Due to continued growth in its Mortgage Division, Cornmarket Group Financial Services are seeking an experienced Mortgage Advisor to develop and work with a well-established client base. The successful candidate will play a key role in the future growth and development of Cornmarket’s Mortgage Advice Service.


Accountabilities of the Role

  • Provide specialist mortgage advice to our clients by videocall

  • Accurately assess client’s financial circumstances and affordability and make appropriate recommendations for mortgages from our panel of providers.

  • Work with existing client bank for the development of mortgage sales and deal with all inbound mortgage prospects generated through marketing channels, webinars and from our financial adviser team.

  • Build, maintain and foster strong relationships with new and existing clients

  • Work with Mortgage Support team – applications and completions – to efficiently manage all applications through the cycle, from initial enquiry to drawdown.

  • Provide advice on Mortgage related Life and Serious Illness cover (after a minimum 6 months in the role)

  • Maintain and develop market knowledge and information on all mortgage products and related services

  • Exceed financial targets in a fully compliant manner 

  • Comply with risk control and regulatory requirements that are relevant to this role

  • Maintain commercial awareness relevant to this role


Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Full QFA qualification upon commencement in the role

  • 3+ years working as a Mortgage Adviser

  • Knowledge of broker Mortgage application software such as Online Applications - an advantage

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills  

  • Strong attention to detail and numeracy skills

  • Driven and ambitious

  • Knowledge of risk control & regulatory environment

  • Commercial awareness

Controlled Function

This role is a ‘controlled function’ as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that the appointee meets the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity standards issued by the Central Bank. This requires the company to complete prescribed due diligence to assess the appointee’s fitness and probity.
