Role Purpose

As a Retirement & Investment Consultant, you will play an important role in helping clients navigate one of life's most significant financial milestones: retirement.

Working with a dedicated portfolio of clients, you will build trusted relationships and provide personalised guidance to help individuals understand their retirement options, plan for the future, and achieve their financial goals with confidence.

Through comprehensive financial reviews, you will assess clients' needs and objectives and provide expert advice on retirement and investment solutions, including ARFs, Investments, Single Premium AVCs and PRSAs, Savings Plans, Retired Members Life Cover, Cornmarket Tax Return Service, and Life products.

This is a relationship-focused, client-centred role where success is built on trust, financial expertise, and delivering positive outcomes for customers. You'll be supported with a full diary of client appointments each week, allowing you to focus on providing high-quality advice and exceptional service.

Accountabilities of the Role

  • Conduct comprehensive financial reviews to understand clients' circumstances, priorities, and retirement goals.

  • Support and guide clients throughout their retirement journey, helping them navigate important financial decisions with confidence.

  • Provide personalised retirement and investment advice, recommending solutions that align with clients' needs and long-term objectives.

  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders through exceptional service and ongoing support.

  • Manage the implementation of retirement, investment, and protection solutions, ensuring a smooth and positive client experience.

  • Educate clients on the options available to them and help them make informed financial decisions.

  • Deliver a high standard of professional, client-focused service at every stage of the customer journey.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and internal teams to achieve positive outcomes for clients and the business.

  • Ensure all activities are completed in line with company policies, regulatory standards, and legal requirements.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of risk management and compliance requirements relevant to the role.

  • Stay informed on developments within the pensions, investment, and protection markets to ensure advice remains current and relevant.

  • Continuously develop professional knowledge and expertise through ongoing learning and development opportunities.


Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Full QFA qualification required upon commencement in the role.

  • Experience providing financial advice and supporting clients with retirement, investment, protection, or life assurance solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted client relationships and deliver positive customer outcomes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex information and make informed recommendations.

  • A customer-centric approach with a passion for helping people make confident financial decisions.

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a wider team.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client priorities effectively.

  • Good understanding of the regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to financial advice.

  • Commercial awareness and an interest in staying informed on industry developments, market trends, and changing customer needs.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining technical expertise.

Controlled Function Position

This role is a ‘controlled function’ as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that the appointee meets the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity standards issued by the Central Bank. This requires the company to complete prescribed due diligence to assess the appointee’s fitness and probity.
